In November 2023, China's lithium ore imports were 370800 tons, a decrease of 19.21 percent month-on-month and 12.27 percent year-on-year. This data shows that China's lithium ore imports have declined in the last month.
Among them, the amount of lithium ore imported from Australia was 211100 tons, a decrease of 39% month on month and 29.3% year on year. This data shows that Australia, as one of the main suppliers of lithium ore to China, has seen a sharp decline in its supply in the last month. This may be due to a variety of factors, including the decline in Australian lithium production, export policy adjustments or international market price fluctuations.
At the same time, imports of lithium ore from Brazil were 37000 tons, up 293.9 percent month-on-month and down 4.5 percent year-on-year. This data shows that although Brazil's supply has increased, its supply is still small compared to Australia.
In addition, from January to November 2023, China's lithium ore imports were 3.9922 million tons, an increase of 53.3 percent year-on-year. This data shows that China's demand for lithium ore showed an increasing trend in the first 11 months of this year.
In terms of specific countries, the amount of lithium ore imported from Australia was 3.187 million tons, an increase of 38.6 percent over the same period last year; the amount of lithium ore imported from Brazil was 159600 tons, an increase of 32.4 percent over the same period last year. In addition, the amount of lithium ore imported from Nigeria was 202000 tons, an increase of 249.7 percent year-on-year; the amount of lithium ore imported from Zimbabwe was 296500 tons, an increase of 767.7 percent year-on-year. These data show that China is importing lithium ore from multiple countries to meet its growing demand. (Changjiang Nonferrous Network)
