Tertiary Minerals has completed an inaugural drilling programme on the Mushima North copper project, in Zambia.

The programme aimed to test the A1 and C1 copper, zinc and arsenic soil anomalies that were defined by a soil sampling programme last year.

The drilling involved 25 reverse circulation drillholes to a maximum depth of 112 m, with three drill traverses completed at the A1 anomaly and one at the C1 anomaly.

The company is now conducting portable X-ray fluorescence analysis of the drill samples, with selected samples due to be sent to an independent laboratory for check analysis.

Chairperson Patrick Cheetham said the maiden drill programme progressed smoothly and was successful in meeting its objectives.

The Mushima North area is quite remote and largely inaccessible for exploration during the wet season, so we are pleased to have completed the drill programme and demobilised the drill equipment before the onset of rains,” he added.

The company will release the results of the drill programme in due course.
