At an important moment when the whole country summarizes and reviews the great achievements made in the 70 years since the founding of New China and starts a new journey from a new starting point, the "2019 China non-metallic Mineral Industry Conference and Exhibition Expo" sponsored by the China non-metallic Mineral Industry Association was solemnly held in Guangzhou recently. With the theme of "Industry Standardization and Self-discipline, Industrial Integration and Development", the conference summarized the development experience and achievements of my country's non-metallic mining industry, discussed the development and positioning of my country's future non-metallic mining industry strategy, and broke through the main contradictions and outstanding problems of the industry. It is recommended that the non-metallic mining industry should win the "two tough battles" and make new and greater contributions to the realization of the "two centenary" goals.
Xing Tao, deputy director of the Department of Raw Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out in his speech that the non-metallic mining industry should conscientiously implement the new development concept, take deepening the supply-side structural reform as the main line, improve the quality and efficiency of development as the center, adhere to innovation-driven development, improve the level of intelligent manufacturing in the industry, adhere to coordinated development, promote the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure, adhere to green development level, promote the development of industry norms and self-discipline.
Relevant comrades of the Department of Mineral Resources Protection and Supervision of the Ministry of Natural Resources pointed out that the non-metallic mining industry first adheres to green development and promotes the formation of a new development model of win-win resources and environment. The second is to adhere to innovative development and continue to inject new impetus into the healthy development of the industry. The third is to persist in deepening research and make more contributions to the layout of mineral resources development and management. It is necessary to start the research on the "14th Five-Year Plan" of non-metallic mineral resources and provide basic research results for the national "14th Five-Year Plan" mineral resources planning.
Qiao Longde, president of the China Building Materials Federation, said that the corporate structure of the non-metallic mining industry is increasingly optimized, and the transformation and upgrading of the non-metallic mining and products sector has achieved remarkable results. China Non-metallic Mining Industry Association has grasped the essence of industry development and promoted the healthy development of industry integration. However, the current non-metallic mining industry still lacks the implementation of the means to promote development, joint cooperation and organic combination of the industrial chain system and other issues. It is necessary to establish a new concept of development, change the mode and model of development, and resolutely fight the battle to eliminate production capacity, make up for shortcomings, eliminate backwardness and promote green development. The association should join hands with large enterprises to fight one battle after another in an organized and purposeful manner, completely change the small, scattered, and backward situation of the non-metallic mining industry, and form a new industry with high-quality development.
Sun Chuanyao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Pan Donghui, president of the China Nonmetallic Mining Industry Association, respectively made theme reports on "Graphite Strategic Mineral Resources Situation and Industrial Development" and "Goals and Paths for High-quality Development of China's Nonmetallic Mining Industry.

The meeting also announced the list of 19 winners of the "2019 China Non-metallic Mineral Science and Technology Award", as well as the list of "China Non-metallic Mineral Industry Green Mine Pilot Demonstration" and "China Non-metallic Mineral Industry Intelligent Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration. At the same time, the conference also held the 7th Council of the 6th China Nonmetallic Minerals Industry Association, the Graphite Fluorite Strategic Mineral Resources Industry Development Forum, the Functional Mineral Filler and Market Application Development Forum and the Nonmetallic Minerals Exhibition Expo.
