A few days ago, the summary and evaluation of the strategic action of prospecting breakthrough in Inner Mongolia Autonomous region has been fully completed, and many important mineral sites have been found, and the reserves of mineral resources in the region have increased significantly.
Since the implementation of the strategic action of prospecting breakthrough in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 2011, a total of 31.197 billion yuan has been invested in exploration. Major breakthroughs have been made in basic geological survey, important mineral exploration, old mine prospecting, scientific and technological support, and mineral resources conservation and comprehensive utilization, resulting in good economic and social benefits. Coal, copper, lead, zinc, tin, gold, silver, crystal graphite has been fully completed or exceeded the 10-year target, new discovery of Shuangjianzishan silver polymetallic deposit, Zalag Amu copper deposit, Cao Siyao molybdenum deposit, Fuxing Tun silver polymetallic deposit and other 112 large and medium-sized mineral areas; completed the establishment of iron, copper, lead, zinc, gold and other national key mineral species of the target of 10-15 integrated exploration area; the exploration results of strategic emerging minerals are outstanding. Seven large and super-large uranium deposits and super-large crystalline graphite deposits have been discovered. The identified reserves of crystalline graphite have increased by nearly 10 times. The survey and evaluation of "three rare" minerals have been carried out, and the Zhaojinggou large-scale tantalum deposit and the Barenzalag uranium-niobium deposit have been discovered.
New progress has been made in clean energy survey. Shale gas and shallow geothermal energy survey and evaluation have filled the gap in the autonomous region. Shale gas was discovered for the first time in Ordos City. Geothermal fields in more than ten areas, including Wulannaoer Scenic Area in Wuhai City and Engebei Area in Ordos City, have been discovered one after another; the geothermal exploration demonstration projects such as the supplementary survey of geothermal resources in the planning and construction areas of Hohhot and Baotou, the construction of 3 geothermal holes in Helinger New District, the investigation and evaluation of shallow geothermal energy in 5 cities, and a shallow geothermal energy demonstration project have all been started.
