
The Geoscience Documentation Center of the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources recently launched an online interactive question-and-answer and live classroom series of popular science activities around the theme of 14 great leaps in life on the earth in the past 3.5 billion years.
During the activity, Professor Su Dechen introduced the geological environment in the process of life evolution, and Professor Wang Zhangjun described the epic of the origin and evolution of life from prokaryotes to eukaryotes, from plants to animals, from underwater to land, from the Cambrian explosion of life to the birth of human beings. In the interactive session, the two experts answered questions raised by the audience about the formation of minerals such as oil and natural gas, the reasons for the different shapes of mountains, and the origin and extinction of dinosaurs.
