For the first time, China has made a breakthrough in the exploration of geothermal water resources in Guang'an area, and has drilled the self-flow geothermal well with the largest water output in Sichuan Province. The results will promote the development of high-quality transformation in Guang'an.

The geothermal exploration well in Tongluoshan area of Guang 'an was laid in Liujiagou Village, Moujia Town, Linshui County. The drilling was completed on October 25 this year. Three layers of artegenic geothermal water were drilled at 557-726 meters, 841-857 meters and 998-1052 meters respectively. At present, the orifice water temperature is 42 degrees Celsius, and the daily water inflow is 10000 cubic meters. It is calcium magnesium sulfate type medium mineralized water. It is rich in lithium, strontium, metasilicic acid and other trace elements and components that are beneficial to the human body, and has high medical care. Comprehensive development and utilization value.

This achievement was highly praised by the local people, who believed that the work "drilled a well and realized a dream" for Guang'an ". At present, Guang'an Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have requested Linshui County to carry out land use type, industrial planning and land and space planning adjustments in advance. It plans to build a hot spring town relying on geothermal resources, develop health care industry, extend the tourism industry chain, and help Guang'an transform from a resource-exhausted city to an ecologically civilized city.

"East Sichuan Coal City" Guang'an is an important node city in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the hometown of Comrade Deng Xiaoping. In 2009, Guang'an was listed as a resource-exhausted city. In 2018, Guang'an was identified as a national-level ecological civilization pilot demonstration zone and a national modern agricultural demonstration zone. Adjusting the industrial structure, optimizing the ecological environment and realizing the transformation and development have become the urgent needs of the city. Since 2019, the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources has deployed and implemented a comprehensive geological survey of resources and environment in Guang'an, Sichuan. The above results are important progress in this work recently.

The geological survey work closely focused on the demand for the development and utilization of geothermal resources in Huaying Mountain, overcoming difficulties such as unclear understanding of the storage conditions and water circulation channels of the ground pressure type geothermal system, and drilling multi-layer geothermal water resources that can be developed and utilized. At the same time, this breakthrough in geothermal exploration also provides experience and demonstration for follow-up work, and will promote the exploration and development of geothermal resources in this area.

According to the arrangement, the next step is to scientifically evaluate the potential of geothermal water resources in Guang'an area. Continue to carry out resource potential evaluation, build a demonstration project for geothermal exploration, development and utilization, establish the geothermal brand of the Chengdu Geological Survey Center of the China Geological Survey, and promote the construction of geothermal disciplines. The second is to strengthen the transformation and application of geological survey results, formulate plans for the development and utilization of geothermal resources and suggestions for the setting of mineral rights, support the scientific, reasonable and effective development and utilization of geothermal resources, promote the integration of small towns with geological characteristics and high quality hot spring towns, and support and serve the development of rural tourism.
