The 2020 (9th) China International Coal Chemical Industry Development Forum with the theme of "Insist on Innovation, Lead and Promote Upgrade Demonstration" was grandly held in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province on October 14.

As of the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan", my country has built 8 sets of coal-to-liquid, 4 sets of coal-to-natural gas, 32 sets of coal (methanol) to olefins, and 24 sets of coal-to-ethylene glycol demonstration and industrialization promotion projects. First, the scale of the industry has increased significantly.

Coal-to-liquid production capacity in 2019 was 8.23 million tons per year, an increase of 5.3 million tons, or 180.88 percent, over 2015, and full-year production was 7.456 million tons, an increase of 4.9368 million tons, or 365.91 percent, over 2015.

Regarding the development of modern coal chemical industry during the "14th Five-Year Plan", Deputy Secretary-General Hu Qianlin put forward four suggestions: First, strengthen the top-level design and build a clean and efficient diversified coal system. The second is to promote the development of industrial integration and improve the overall economic benefits. The third is to continuously promote scientific and technological innovation. The fourth is to improve the level of sustainable development of the industry.

Academician Liu Zhongmin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, analyzed the current energy situation and challenges in China, and put forward the concept of multi-energy complementarity. He pointed out that the Chinese Academy of Sciences has carried out transformative clean energy key technologies and demonstration pilot projects to build a variety of energy The interrelated technical route, and pointed out that the relationship between the development of coal chemical industry and petrochemical industry is to coordinate development.

Academician Liu also shared the achievements of the Institute of Dahua of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in recent years, which is researching innovation and industrialization, covering a number of innovative and disruptive technologies, such: 150000 tons/year syngas to diesel (cobalt-based catalyst) unit, methanol to olefin third generation technology (DMTO3), methanol to propylene DMTP fluidized bed technology, syngas direct to olefin technology, methanol toluene to p-xylene co-production of low-carbon olefins, methanol and carbon monoxide coupling to aromatics, syngas to mixed alcohol technology, multiphase single-point olefin hydroformylation technology, controlled catalytic polymerization of C4-C5-olefins, carbon dioxide hydrogenation to methanol, gasoline, aromatics and a series of results.

Pan Xiulian, a researcher at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, analyzed the future challenges and opportunities in the field of C1 chemistry from an academic point of view, introduced the research progress of the traditional Fischer-Tropsch pathway to low-carbon olefins, and shared the research progress of the dual-function catalyst for the one-step synthesis of olefins by syngas jointly developed by Baocin and Academician Research Group.

Hu Chenghong, Deputy Secretary-General of Jingzhou Municipal Government and Director of the Municipal Investment Promotion Center, focused on Jingzhou's implementation of the Yangtze River protection requirements and the national strategy of transporting coal from the north to the south, innovated the layout of modern coal chemical industry, and gave full play to the Haoji Railway and the Yangtze River Golden Waterway's cross-crossing iron and water transportation functions and a large amount of coal. The advantages of water resources were introduced to build an important green energy and chemical park in Central China during the "14th Five-China. The park will conscientiously implement the national strategy of transporting coal from the north to the south, vigorously develop the clean and efficient coal utilization industry, and focus on the construction of "five platforms" and "eight industries".

Since 2010, the forum has been successfully held for 8 sessions and has become the highest specification, most influential and most authoritative industry event in the coal chemical industry.
